Online Voting Idea

For new a Menu Launch…

With everyone at home and all hooked to their computers what about an event that uses “Online Voting.” So here is the idea, you have a series of 6 new kinds of chili but you can only add one to the 2020 menu.

What to do?

How about an online voting event that has your client’s taste all six chili types then go online and vote for the best one. They purchase the food package for a small fee of $5.00 to cover food costs, taste the food from home then vote from their computer on the best one. For participating at the event your restaurant gives all who vote a $10 food gift card. Buy the food don’t vote don’t get the gift card.

To advertise the events send out a Flyer explaining the process and feature the food to be tasted. I would preprint in volume full-color event flyers with the bottom 1/3 left open for you to custom print each new food voting event plus the online voting form. See below.

Family Night

Okay during POST Covid-19 pandemic more families are going to spend time at home with the family. In doing this they might be interested in doing different things that include your take-out dinner option.

We have suggested three options like Photo Scavenger Hunt, Foodbank Fundraiser, and the Halloween Coloring Party. These TYFYB examples are opportunities to add your take-out and delivery to their family time.

To add to the impact of the family night as a TYFYB opportunity other local businesses could support these events through advertising to their customer base.

Another TYFYB opportunity is to directly support these events through the purchase of specific restaurant gift cards that represent pre-payment to the restaurant for each food item for the event.

This “20 % off” gift cards are used as a perk gift to regular customers during the general course of business. If someone needs a perk gift give this “20% off” gift card.

At websites like the National Today, they have ideas like Food and Beverage Holidays. These ideas are other ways for your restaurant to get your products into the family night process.

Food Bank Fundraiser

The food bank fundraiser opportunity is a community opportunity for the local schools, community sports, church groups, or any organization that has a cause that needs money during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The community supports the local food bank through a dinner night at the restaurant. For the dinner night the menu is suspended and what is served is the featured menu item. This can be both take-out and delivery plus the restaurant dine in.

As an example, we have Wednesday night Spaghetti and Tuesday night Steak. The restaurant chooses the feature menu item.

The restaurant gets paid food costs plus 20% for preparation. The money left over and the food leftover is donated to the food bank and the community support organization. With the food going to the food bank plus all caned donations and 50% of the money. The local organization receives 50% of the money. The donation receipt goes to the restaurant.

That’s it! The fundraiser food night!
